Player left with big transfer dilemma after Nottingham Forest show interest

Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo has found himself in a ‘dilemma’ after Nottingham Forest made their move for him over the weekend.

That’s according to AS, who say the defender wants to move on from Mallorca this summer but would prefer to stay in Spain if he can.

A report on Saturday indicated that Nottingham Forest had made their first move for the full-back. That was followed by a claim that they needed to improve their bid considerably to get the 27-year-old, before Mallorca denied they received a bid anyway.

AS now pick up the thread and report that Maffeo finds himself with a dilemma. He thinks it is time to leave Mallorca and would like to stay in Spain. The problem is that it’s difficult to find a Spanish team who would match Mallorca’s demands.

They want around €9m and no Spanish side would offer that. In the meantime, Nottingham Forest have stepped up and shown an interest. AS have confirmed they’ve made a move for the former Fulham man. They’re not the only side outside of Spain who are interested in the defender.

Thus, he has been left with a dilemma. Does he wait and hope for a Spanish team to pay what Mallorca want, or move outside, perhaps to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest. That’s a decision he now needs to make.
