Three Premier League sides are reportedly targeting the highly-rated Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia for a summer move.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an impressive breakout tournament at the Club World Cup and is said to have a release clause of just €50million (£43m).

Garcia has scored twice and provided one assist in three games, having acted as a replacement for the ill Kylian Mbappe.

He scored in group games against Al-Hilal and Red Bull Salzburg, claiming an assist in Madrid's victory over Pachuca, as the Spanish giants eased to the top of Group H.

The Spaniard, who has come through the club's academy, has even been compared to Real Madrid legend Raul by boss Xabi Alonso.

And a trio of Premier League clubs are now eyeing the striker, according to Diario AS.

They claim the 'top Premier League clubs have called the Madrid striker's entourage' about a summer move and that there has been 'tentative contact' to work out his contractual situation.

Leeds United and Sunderland are reportedly two of the clubs interested.

Gonzalo has two years remaining on his contract at Madrid, but his buyout clause is reportedly a relatively affordable €50m (£43m).

However, the academy star wants to remain at Real Madrid and play for Xabi Alonso.

He is said to want to establish himself in the first team and follow in the footsteps of Marco Asencio, Dani Carvajal, Nacho Fernandez, and Lucas Vázquez.

But despite impressing at the Club World Cup, it will be tricky for the 21-year-old to displace Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo or Endrick in Madrid's starting lineup next season.

Meanwhile, this season Gonzalo scored 25 goals and provided four assists for Real Madrid Castilla, who play in the Spanish third tier.

'I've followed the Castilla a lot, not just him,' Alonso said. 'To be honest, what he does isn't a surprise. He did it many times for the Castilla.

'He's a typical No.9 who knows how to wait for his opportunity and moves well. He reminds me of Raúl, always in the right position, waiting for the opportunity, getting chances and fighting for them. I'm very happy for him, and we need more of him.'

Asked whether García will remain in his squad next season, Alonso said: 'There are no decisions regarding the start of the 2025–26 season... we're focused on the Club World Cup with who we have. The Club World Cup tells you things, but there's no decision.'

Garcia added: 'It's a dream to be here, to be able to play minutes in this shirt, which means everything to me,' he proclaimed. 'It's truly a dream come true.

'I hope to score many more goals in this shirt. Now I'm enjoying this experience to the fullest.'
