Leeds United fans learned about the future of Junior Firpo on Tuesday. The 28-year old finally made a decision on his future at the club.
Firpo will depart Leeds United after spending four years at Elland Road. His time at the club has been mixed; his arrival was unimpressive. Firpo was often out due to injury or being benched because of his lack of form. However, he turned everything around these past few years.

With the arrival of Daniel Farke, the left back became the hub of the Leeds attack. The club scored 95 goals on their way to winning the Championship this past season.

Firpo has now chosen his path away from West Yorkshire. He is now a free agent, and is largely expected to join his former club Real Betis.
Leeds will now need to find a first choice left back who can contribute to attack. Lille’s Gabriel Gudmundsson is a name rated highly by the recruitment team. Ian Darke has suggested that the Whites look to Chelsea star Ben Chilwell to play the role next season:
“It is only a big blow if they fail to find a good replacement.” he told MOT Leeds News.
“Suspect they have someone lined up, people like [Aaron] Cresswell and Chilwell are on the market.
“Promoted clubs have an issue of getting better players to sign for a probable relegation fight; more average players will take the Premier League money and take their chances.“
The Whites are currently focused on completing a move for Wolfsburg star Sebastiaan Bornauw.
Ben Chilwell is not at that level anymore
The left back was great a few seasons ago, but now he is not that kind of player anymore. Chilwell has struggled with injuries and fitness since hitting the ground running with Chelsea.

If Leeds are to go out and get a left back, they need one who has qualities to fit in Daniel Farke’s system.
