Myles Turner stuns NBA, leaves Pacers to join division rival (report)

Anything can happen in NBA free agency, and that was proven true on Tuesday.

Even though many thought Myles Turner would remain with the Indiana Pacers, he made the stunning decision to leave the franchise and sign a four-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks worth $107 million, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.

Turner was the Pacers’ longest-tenured player on the team with 10 seasons under his belt and wanted to remain in Indiana. But he elected join the Pacers’ division rival.

The Bucks’ decision to sign Turner came after they made a stunning decision of their own to waive and stretch star guard Damian Lillard. The Bucks will stretch the remainder of Lillard’s $113 million left on his contract.

Lillard spent the last two seasons in Milwaukee after he was acquired by the Bucks in a three-team blockbuster trade. His playoff run was cut short after he tore his Achilles in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Pacers.
