Manchester United could have to make a “big loss” on Antony for him to join Real Betis permanently this summer.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan with the La Liga side.
The Brazil international registered nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for the Seville-based club after coming to the end of the road at Man United.
Fabrizio Romano reported on 20 June Italian side Como have tried to sign Antony, but he is giving his priority to Betis as they look to secure a permanent deal for his services.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the Spanish club won’t be able to afford anywhere near the winger’s book value at Old Trafford.
Antony joined United in an £86million deal back in 2022, but he has failed to live up to that transfer fee.

Football Insider revealed on 6 May United will not give Antony another chance and will look to cash in on him this summer.
Ruben Amorim’s side are believed to be looking for a fee upwards of £30million for the attacker, who is under contract until June 2027.
🚨🇧🇷 Italian side Como have tried to sign Antony in the recent days but Brazilian winger is giving priority to Real Betis return.
Man United are also aware of Antony’s preference to continue at Betis next season, no club to club agreement yet.

Man United could face PSR blow after Antony latest
Borson insisted United could take a profit and sustainability (PSR) loss to get rid of Antony this summer.
He told Football Insider: “Betis might be able to pay his wages.
“Apparently, he’s on reasonable wages, although I find that slightly hard to believe as well. But let’s assume that’s true and he’s on okay wages that they can just about handle.
“It still doesn’t deal with the fact that they’ve got this problem on what they could afford. Their record was the €30million (£25.7million) they paid for Denilson, but that’s in 1998, so you can put that to one side.
“They bought Lo Celso for €22million (£18.8million) from Paris Saint-Germain. Fakir from Lyon for €20million (£17.1million). So, this is a club that there’s just no way that they’re going to pay anywhere near Antony’s remaining book value.
“So, for United to actually execute a sale, they would have to take a very big impairment if they loaned him potentially or a big loss on book value.
“The impairment would only come if they felt that there was no possibility of him ever being worth his book value.
“Something that Chelsea have done before where they’ve had players like Lukaku, who they kind of conclude will never be able to be sold for his book value and you take an impairment.
“United could well have a choice about an impairment or actually executing a sale, taking the pain of the loss from a PSR perspective and just getting rid of him.
“But it’s extremely unlikely that they’re going to be able to get anywhere near what his book value is.”

In terms of incomings at Old Trafford, Football Insider revealed on 23 June United can only move for a new first-choice goalkeeper if Andre Onana leaves the club this summer.
Sources say the Manchester giants value Onana at between £35-40million as they remain open to moving him on over the coming weeks.
The Cameroon international kept just 11 clean sheets in 50 appearances in the 2024-25 season.
