Fabrizio Romano drops transfer update West Ham fans really won’t like - report

Mohammed Kudus is expected to leave West Ham this summer after a disappointing 24/25 season, with Tottenham currently leading the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Sky Sports had previously reported that Chelsea were offered the chance to sign the Ghanaian in early June, but now Spurs are understood to have made an approach for the forward.

Last season, Kudus struggled to reach the heights he did in 2023/24, scoring just five goals compared to his 14 goals and nine assists from the season before.

The forward recently changed agents, hinting at his eagerness to land a transfer this window.

Kudus’ release clause to Premier League teams is currently £85 million, but it has been reported that Spurs may be able to land a deal for the player for less, with West Ham in need to raise money to allow for reinvestment.

The Guardian have reported that West Ham would be open to selling the 24-year-old for as little as £60 million, £25 million below his release clause.

Romano latest on Spurs’ Kudus pursuit

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Spurs have made a ‘positive approach’ to sign Kudus, with personal terms reportedly underway.

The respected journalist and transfer insider also revealed that the player is open to a move to the Hammers’ London rivals – news that will inevitably not go down well with the West Ham faithful.

It is understood there are ‘two more clubs involved in the race’ to sign the forward, with one of those likely to be Chelsea.

With this transfer window very much underway, West Ham will be keen to offload Kudus as soon as possible to allow Graham Potter to make some signings of his own.

However, should Kudus make the move to North London, this will undoubtedly disgruntle many of the West Ham fanbase and add more pressure for the club to invest the money wisely.
