Report: Nottingham Forest can sign player wanted by Steve Cooper for £18m, he’s now available

Nottingham Forest are looking for new wingers this summer, with the club set to reshuffle the playing squad.

Nuno Espirito Santo will go in search of new players as he looks forward to leading the team in the UEFA Conference League next season.

Anthony Elanga is being courted by Newcastle this summer. The Magpies want to bolster their squad for the Champions League, and Forest have received an offer from Newcastle for Elanga.

Other players could leave the City Ground too. Jota Silva is wanted by Sporting CP, whilst Palmeiras are keen to take Ramon Sosa to Brazil.

Those departures alone will leave gaps in the squad, and with Forest set to sign Igor Jesus, the club are looking to add other forwards to their ranks.

Nottingham Forest want Anis Hadj Moussa

According to O Jogo, the Reds and Liverpool have shown interest in Moussa this summer, with Feyenoord now advising how much he will cost.

Forest can land the Algerian performer for just £18 million and that might not represent bad money for the club during the current window.

The 23-year-old was in fine form during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 11 goals and claiming six assists from his position as a right-winger.

He did show some versatility over the course of the season, playing as a number 10 and on the left-hand side of a front three.

Forest and Liverpool aren’t the only clubs eyeing a move for the forward this summer, with Marseille, Lille and Sevilla also looking to potentially make a move.

Forest will hope to keep Elanga

This isn’t the first time that Forest have looked at signing the Feyenoord player, with Steve Cooper and Espirito Santo both being linked with him previously.

At 23, he looks like a nice profile for a Forest signing and £18 million is hardly a price tag that will break the bank if things don’t work out.

Forest will hope to keep Elanga, however. He’s a very important player in the system that the Reds play, making losing him hard to stomach after qualifying for Europe last season.

If Forest are truly going to establish themselves in the Premier League and even push to the next level, keeping players like Elanga is paramount and hopefully, Moussa can sign for the club to add competition and not replace the Swede.
