The center agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal that keeps him in Toronto through the 2029-30 season.
Poeltl will first pick up his 2026-27 player option worth $19.5 million before adding three more years to his contract.
The Raptors and Poeltl’s agents, Michael Tellem and Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports, considered different options including opt-out-and-extend, but ultimately settled on an opt-in-and-extend structure.
Last year, Poeltl showed why he’s so valuable, averaging 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting an efficient 62.7% from the field.
