Man United are reportedly interested in a Premier League winger wanted by Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle.

Manchester United are working to try and sign Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo this summer, but a deal has not yet been done. They offered the Bees a £55m improved bid, with £7.5m in add-ons; however, it was rejected.

They are looking at fellow Premier League wingers who could come in and make an impact in Ruben Amorim’s attack, with one name also linked with Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Man United keen on West Ham winger Kudus

One Premier League winger who is grabbing a lot of headlines at the moment is West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, who is a likely candidate to leave the London Stadium this summer after two seasons with the club.

The 24-year-old had a very impressive first season with the Hammers, but regressed slightly last year, and reports are now saying that he is open to leaving the club this summer. Kudus made 32 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

According to a report by the Guardian, Man United are one of several teams that are monitoring Kudus. Tottenham are said to be the current frontrunners, with interest also coming from Chelsea and Newcastle too.

The report also says that West Ham are willing to sell Kudus this summer, and could let him go for as little as £60m, not too dissimilar to Mbeumo’s asking price. That is a relatively cheap price for Kudus, who has an £85m release clause in his contract. Considering that United are willing to part with around £60m for the Brentford winger, there is no reason why they wouldn’t consider the same for Kudus.

How likely are Man United to sign Mbeumo?

Despite this reported interest in Kudus, it seems that the Red Devils are still very much prioritising a move to sign Mbeumo this summer, as he has been one of their primary targets, alongside Cunha and Viktor Gyokeres.

Despite the fact that they have seen bid rejections, it is understood that Brentford are accepting that they will likely sell Mbeumo this summer, due to the winger not only performing excellently for them, but also for his career progression.

However, with that being said, Brentford’s Director of Football was quoted by the Daily Mail this week, suggesting that the 25-year-old could remain at Brentford. He said: “Bryan has his own views on what he wants to do with the next part of his career and where he wants to end up, which is fair because it's his career.

“Those conversations have been ongoing now for a couple of weeks. We've made our point clear that, obviously, having had such a great season, if he earned a massive move now and it was right for us in terms of financially, we'd be open to that.

“But if he ended up here next season, I wouldn't be massively surprised. It would be welcome. We'd be delighted. It would save me a massive headache, frankly. And that's not off the table as well, so let's see.”

If a deal can’t be done between Man United and Brentford, then the Red Devils may quickly change their priority and go after Kudus instead.
