Marc Guehi is the latest player to be linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.
The Reds have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window thus far with Arne Slot and Richard Hughes racking up fees close to £200million for the new players they’ve brought in.
Indeed, there are still a couple of areas within Liverpool’s squad that could do with upgrading, but at the moment, their main goal seems to be recouping some of the money they’ve already spent.

However, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from going into overdrive with talks about Guehi making the move to Merseyside gaining traction each day.
Liverpool want to ensure Crystal Palace are ready to negotiate Marc Guehi’s price tag before making a move
For the last week or so, Guehi has been the most-linked player to Liverpool.
The centre-back is entering the final year of his deal at Selhurst Park, and with no extension in sight, the Eagles are looking to sell their captain this summer.
A couple of clubs have shown an interest in the Englishman, but it’s Slot’s men who appear to be the front runners.
However, as per a report from David Lynch, it seems like Liverpool are waiting to see whether Palace are open to negotiating Guehi’s fee before making their first move.

“I think that they need a signal from Palace that there is a negotiation to be had,” he said on the Sports Mole YouTube channel.
“It’s not going to be a case where it drags on all summer as they did with Newcastle a couple of seasons ago.
“That just never went anywhere, it’s an interesting one that they like him, I think it just says something in the kind of change in transfer policy at Liverpool.”
Marc Guehi would be an impressive signing for Liverpool
Liverpool have Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk as their starting centre-backs at the moment.
And, while both are world-class players, much like Guehi, Konate’s contract is set to run out at the end of the 2025-26 season.
There have been rumours over the last few days that Real Madrid want to sign the Frenchman, and with no extension in sight, it’s beginning to feel like that could be a real possibility.
This would leave Liverpool with just two senior centre-backs to choose from, which is obviously not enough.

On paper, Guehi is a perfect replacement for Konate as he has plenty of Premier League experience, and he is equally as athletic as the former RB Leipzig man.
He’s also gunning for a spot in England’s World Cup squad next summer, so first-team football would be essential.
Of course, there’s plenty of time before the transfer deadline strikes, but in reality, it feels like Liverpool have already found their perfect replacement, if they can get him for the right price, of course.
