£180,000-a-week Arsenal star eyed for surprise transfer - Ben Jacobs

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has emerged as a target for Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr, according to Ben Jacobs.

The Gunners are in the transfer market to bolster their attacking options this summer after Mikel Arteta led the north London club to a third consecutive runners-up finish in the Premier League.

The club are keen to strengthen their winger options and also view adding a new number nine to the squad as a priority during the transfer window, but they now could face a battle to hold on to a key player.

Arsenal saw a host of first-team injuries in attack during the 2024/25 season, including Martinelli, which limited the Brazilian to just ten goals in all competitions, alongside five assists.

The 24-year-old winger, who currently earns £180,000-a-week at the Emirates, is said to be in preliminary talks with the club about a potential extension, but he has now emerged as a target for Al Nassr.

The Saudi giants are keen to add a new winger to their squad and have earmarked Liverpool star Luis Diaz as their top target for the transfer window, but they are ready to make a move for Martinelli, who has been described as "frightening" should the Colombian opt against a move to the Middle East.

While Arsenal are not actively looking to sell the winger, Al Nassr believe that a big offer could change their minds and tempt the player to make the switch.

The Gunners are keen to sign Eberechi Eze this summer alongside a left-winger and a new striker, with Real Madrid star and Martinelli's Brazil international teammate Rodrygo seen as their "dream" target for the position.
