Sky Sports: Liverpool now 'focusing' on three more transfer targets alongside Marc Guehi

Liverpool have now switched their focus to 'three or more' transfer targets alongside defender Marc Guehi, according to reports - with three of Europe's hottest strikers in Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen being in their sights ahead of potential moves to England in the coming weeks.

Guehi, who is moving into the final few months of his contract at Crystal Palace, has emerged as a top target for the Reds, especially with Arne Slot having all but sold Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, and Ibrahima Konate also entering the final 12 months of his contract. But he could be brought in alongside other targets to give the Reds a huge chance of retaining the Premier League title.

The report by Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg states that Liverpool are now focusing on three concrete options in their search for a number nine, with Darwin Nunez's future appearing to be away from Anfield and Slot failing to take Diogo Jota completely under his wing last season.

Namely, those three targets are Isak, Ekitike and Osimhen - all of whom enjoyed strong seasons for their respective clubs last season.

Isak ended Newcastle United's 70-year trophy drought by grabbing the winner against Liverpool in the League Cup final, and scored a further 23 goals in the Premier League to consolidate himself as one of the best attackers in the league, with only Mohamed Salah scoring more than the Swedish star as the Magpies qualified for the Champions League.

Ekitike, meanwhile, grabbed 15 Bundesliga goals for Eintracht Frankfurt to also help them qualify for Europe's prestige competition, whilst Osimhen's shock loan move to Galatasaray from Napoli saw him score an outstanding 37 goals in just 41 games for the Turkish side as they won the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.

Liverpool have conducted thorough checks and 'gathered information' on all the trio, with Ekitike especially being thought to be very high on the list. However, any move for the Frenchman could take time, and the former Paris Saint-Germain starlet knows that if he moves to Liverpool then he will have to remain patient, with the Anfield outfit having to sell players first.
