New One-Year Deals for Everton Players

Everton have announced contract extensions for Aurora Galli and Lucy Hope, keeping both players at the club until June 2026.

Galli has rejoined the squad and is preparing for the upcoming season after recovering from an ACL injury sustained on the opening day of the [2024/25](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-super-league-table-standings/) campaign. The Italian international was determined to return before the season ended — and did so in the final home match against Tottenham Hotspur. Aurora Galli originally signed for the Toffees in July 2021, becoming the first Italian player to feature in the Women’s Super League.

Lucy Hope recently announced her pregnancy and will be supported by Everton as she continues light training before taking maternity leave. Hope joined the club in 2019 from Bristol City. Though she will be absent on the pitch next season, her off-field presence is expected to play a valuable role within the squad.

“I am delighted Yaya and Lucy have signed new contracts with us. I am very happy for Yaya. She started last season with a cruel injury but worked non-stop towards her goal of returning to the pitch before the season ended.

“I was so proud to see her come on against Spurs. Her comeback has been inspirational. I am now looking forward to seeing her in action during the upcoming season where she can continue to be an important part of our squad.

“Everyone at Everton sends warm congratulations to Lucy and her partner ahead of the new addition to the Blues family.

“Although Lucy will not be involved on the pitch for a large part of next season, she is a role model and top professional off it. Her leadership qualities and experience will continue to be crucial to our progression and we know the quality she offers us when she is ready to play again.”
