Chelsea are open to selling Noni Madueke this summer, with Arsenal expressing concrete interest in signing the winger, according to multiple reports.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £28.5 million and has since registered 20 goals and nine assists in 90 appearances across all competitions. While Madueke has shown flashes of his potential, he is not considered one of Chelsea’s ‘untouchable’ players, according toThe Athletic, leaving the door open for a possible move.

Arsenal, who are in the market for a winger and a striker this summer, have reportedly held talks with Madueke’s representatives. Sky Germany claims that discussions have taken place regarding a potential switch to the Emirates Stadium, as Mikel Arteta looks to add depth and competition to his front line, particularly to relieve some of the workload on Bukayo Saka.

Madueke, who primarily plays on the right flank, would provide Arsenal with a dynamic, pacey alternative in wide areas. However, any deal is likely to come at a cost. Chelsea are reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £50 million for the England international.

Despite the speculation, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca recently attempted to downplay rumours of a potential exit. Speaking ahead of the club’s Club World Cup fixture against Flamengo, Maresca said: “Noni is our player. You can read a lot of speculation at the moment, but we consider Noni our player for the coming season.”

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s activity in the transfer market suggests the club may be preparing for further attacking reinforcements. The Blues have already completed a £30 million move for Liam Delap and are reportedly close to finalising a £60 million deal for Brighton’s Joao Pedro. They are also in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a potential deal for highly rated winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea on a permanent basis. The 30-year-old joins the Gunners after spending last season on loan at Real Madrid and has signed a three-year contract. The reported £5 million fee comes as Kepa entered the final year of his Chelsea contract.
