The Green Bay Packers believe in Jordan Love, and have set the emerging quarterback up with a young and ascending group of wide receivers to grow as he develops, potentially making a major leap in 2025.
However, it might not be first-round pick Matthew Golden or third-round rookie Savion Williams who take Love and the Packers’ passing attack to the next level this season, there might be a breakout star about to emerge from the very top of Green Bay’s receiver depth chart.
Could 2025 be Packers WR Jayden Reed’s Breakout Season?

As training camp nears, Jayden Reed aims to build off leading the Packers in receiving in 2024 and will likely open up as Love’s No. 1 wideout this summer, despite Golden’s arrival and heated competition at the position.
Over at CheeseHeadTV, Greg Meinholz argues that Reed has the traits and upside to develop into one of the top receivers in the NFL.
“Reed is arguably the top receiver on the Packers’ roster entering 2025,” Meinholz writes of Reed. “But that’s not enough. Everyone talks about last year’s drops, well, without those drops, he could’ve had his first career 1K-yard season receiving. Reed is a highly productive receiver, but he could be on the cusp of stardom in 2025 if he takes the next step.”

Last season, Reed caught a career-high 55 passes for 857 yards and six touchdowns.
Yet, Reed’s career arc seems to mirror many of the other Packers’ young weapons; Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, Tucker Kraft, and Luke Musgrave, among them, not to mention underachievers on defense who are homegrown talents yet haven’t made the leap to being consistently dominant contributors.
The pieces might be in place and the situation might be right, though, for Reed to make major strides and break through, which would make the Packers’ aerial attack even more prolific.
