MILWAUKEE Wis. (KPTV) - According to an ESPN source, the Milwaukee Bucks are waiving guard Damian Lillard, and stretching the remaining $113 million of his contract over the next five seasons.
“The Bucks are waiving Damian Lillard and stretching the remaining $113 million on his contract in order to acquire Myles Turner,” ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania posted on X on Tuesday.
Lillard, who spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Trail Blazers, had two years and $113 million remaining on his contract.
Per Charania, the remaining salary will be paid out over the next five seasons.

The Portland Trail Blazers reportedly traded down in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday, acquiring the rights to the 16th pick, Yang Hansen.
The move makes Lillard, the Blazers’ all-time leading scorer, a free agent.
Injuries limited the guard to just 58 games last season, in which he averaged 25 points per game.
The 34-year-old [tore his Achilles tendon](https://www.kptv.com/2025/04/28/damian-lillard-leaves-playoff-series-game-with-injury-his-lower-left-leg/) during Milwaukee’s first round playoff matchup against the Indiana Pacers, and is expected to miss most of if not all of the 2025-26 season.
