In a recent report, Foot Mercato stated that Manchester United are in the mix to recruit Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are facing competition from Al-Nassr in pursuit of the Spain international.
Ruiz’s Decent Form In French Football Last Season
Ruiz had an impressive campaign at the French club as he put in a lot of influential displays at the heart of their midfield. The Spanish talent played in 54 matches for PSG last season, scoring five goals and securing ten assists in various competitions.
The 29-year-old anchored the midfield well after he made 37 tackles, 25 blocks and 16 interceptions in Ligue 1. He was even tidy when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass success rate of 89.6% in the top tier of French football (stats via fbref.com).
Ruiz’s current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, the Red Devils would have to make a big offer if they want to lure the Spaniard to Old Trafford this off-season.

Will Ruiz A Dream Choice For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?
Ruiz is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball.
The Spanish sensation can even contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team from midfield. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if asked to do so.
Ruiz would inject some bite and steel into Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He is more than capable of earning regular first-team football at Old Trafford as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.
At 29, Ruiz is playing in his prime which makes him a dream choice for the Red Devils to pursue this off-season. Therefore, it makes sense for Amorim to try everything in his power to bring the Spanish talent to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
