Breaking down the Steelers-Dolphins blockbuster trade (and who won it)

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been highly aggressive this offseason as they try to break their playoff win drought. We’ve seen them execute several trades, including [acquiring DK Metcalf](https://stillcurtain.com/pittsburgh-steelers-land-star-wide-receiver-dk-metcalf-trade-seattle-seahawks-01jnyn9de4rg) and moving on from George Pickens. They also signed Aaron Rodgers, who they hope can be a one-year stopgap and propel them to playoff success.

But arguably their [biggest move came on Monday](https://stillcurtain.com/pittsburgh-steelers-miami-dolphins-trade-jalen-ramsey-minkah-fitzpatrick-one-clear-winner-01jz111n9860) as the team acquired Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a late-round pick swap. It’s very rare in the NFL to see player-for-player trades, especially when it involves two separate three-time All-Pro defensive backs.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins add a three-time All-Pro safety and save a significant amount of money on the cap, which was their primary reasoning for the trade. But losing two major pieces and arguably their two best players from the 2024 season certainly hurts, no matter how you slice it.

So who won the trade between the Steelers and the Dolphins?

Tommy Jaggi and Marcus Mosher of the No Huddle show broke down all of the angles and ramifications of the trade on the Stacking The Box YouTube Channel:
