Leeds United's 2025/26 home kit 'leaked' as fans rip into 'lazy' effort new Premier League shirt

Leeds’ new home kit for the 2025/26 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of release.

Leeds United’s brand new home shirt for the forthcoming 2025/26 Premier League season was ‘leaked’ online over the weekend, with fresh images of the new kit in a shop shared on social media – but some fans are disappointed with the fresh design.

The new Adidas jersey features some intricate detailing which is designed to echo the Lowfields Tunnel which many fans walk through on their way to matches at Elland Road, but similarities with last season’s shirt appear to have frustrated many supporters.

What Leeds United’s new 2025/26 home kit looks like

Adidas’ brand new design is, of course, predominantly white, with the three blue stripes often seen on Adidas kits running down the length of the shoulders alongside a new yellow and blue pattern on the collar and sleeve trim.

The yellow and blue are arranged in a brickwork pattern intended to imitate the unique tiling which lines Leeds’ Lowfields Tunnel. Red Bull’s logo returns on the front of the shirt, while the back of the neck appears to feature an image of a Leeds scarf with the motif ‘We Are Leeds’ stitched alongside it. The shorts will be white with the traditional Adidas stripes in blue.

A picture shared on social media which shows the new kit hanging on racks in a shop appears to imply that the shirt will be released imminently, although the veracity leak has yet to be confirmed.

It is, however, rather more plausible than a separate ‘leak’ which emerged this week on X showing a rather jazzier version of the kit which appears to be a fake, based on a custom design made by a social media user earlier this year.

Fans disappointed by ‘design by numbers’ new kit

The immediate reaction from Leeds fans to the new jersey has not been overwhelmingly positive, however, with a number of comments on social media channels criticising a kit which bears a strong resemblance to the kit worn during Leeds’ promotion campaign in the 2024/25 season.

Responses from supporters to the design include the suggestion that the new jersey represented “designed by numbers” on Adidas’ part, while others were unhappy at the idea of spending £70 on “pretty much last season’s shirt.” Multiple social media users simply said that the new shirt was “lazy”.

There have been some more positive reviews, including one calling the shirt “clean”, but a comment from one fan which simply said “won’t be buying that” seems to be an accurate summary of the broader sentiment towards the leaked kit. The away and third shirts have yet to be revealed but have often featured more experimental designs since Adidas took over as Leeds’ kit manufacturer in 2020, with memorable shirts including the blue peacock print kit used in the 2023/24 season.

Some fans will clearly be hoping that the change strips do some of the heavy lifting from a fashion perspective over the course of the coming year, with the club set to take to the field with a pretty familiar look upon the club’s return to the top flight.
