Day two of the 2025 NBA free agency has been a busy one for the Sacramento Kings. New general manager Scott Perry’s most recent move will bring in 6’9 big Drew Eubanks.
After trading Jonas Valanciunas to Denver for Dario Saric earlier in the day, there was an absence of a trustworthy backup behind Domantas Sabonis.
ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to break the news.

Eubanks (28) was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers before quickly making his way to California’s capital.
In 61 games played last season (split between the Clippers and Jazz), the seven-year veteran averaged 4.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per night. He shot a respectable 59.3 percent from the field in the process.
Heading into 2025-26, Eubanks is on an expiring contract worth $4.75 million.
Perry continues to operate in a way that points towards valuing future flexibility while he explores options to reconstruct the “core” he inherited from Monte McNair.
While Eubanks certainly won’t provide the production that Valanciunas could’ve, he can fill the 15 minutes that Sabonis rests. Plus, there’s rookie 22-year-old Maxime Raynaud, who could play his way into a spot. And two-way big Isaac Jones is coming into his second season.
But if Sabonis were to go down, their big man depth could become exposed.
