INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WNDU) - The Indiana Pacers have lost a big part of the team that came so close to winning an NBA championship when they lost to Oklahoma City in game seven of the NBA Finals.
Starting center and long time Pacer Myles Turner has signed a new deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Athletic is reporting that the deal is for four years and $107 million.
According to the report the Bucks are waiving all star guard Damian Lillard and restructuring the money they still owe him to free up some cash for the signing of Turner.
The loss of Turner is a shock to Pacers fans, especially at the price for which Milwaukee signed him. By NBA standards the $27 million per year deal that Turner signed with the Bucks seems like a deal the Pacers could have easily matched.
The Pacers will begin next season without their star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who suffered a torn achilles in game seven against Oklahoma City. Now they will also be without Turner.
