Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has departed CHELSEA and joined Arsenal in a deal that has shocked many in the Premier League.
In the summer of 2024, Arrizabalaga extended his stay at Chelsea by a year, keeping him under contract until June 2026. However, shortly after renewing, he was loaned out to Bournemouth for the 2024–25 season.
At Bournemouth, Arrizabalaga replaced the experienced Neto, who ironically joined Arsenal on loan, as the Cherries’ first-choice keeper. The Spaniard excelled under manager Andoni Iraola, playing 35 Premier League matches and securing nine clean sheets
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘The Spanish goalkeeper joined from Athletic Bilbao in August 2018 and won four major trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge.
‘Kepa’s first season as a Blue saw him feature in 54 games across all competitions, including playing a key role in the successful Europa League campaign.
‘Kepa spent the majority of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Real Madrid before going to Bournemouth last season, where he made 35 appearances for the Cherries as they secured ninth place in the Premier League.
‘We thank Kepa for his efforts during his time at Stamford Bridge and wish him well in the future.’

This is a move that will surely shock many CHELSEA and Arsenal fans, but at the end of the day, if he believes that he is good enough to replace David Raya between the sticks, then good luck to the lad.
