According to reports, the Charlotte Hornets are bringing back Tre Mann on a three year deal worth $24 million total. That’s $8 million per year if you don’t want to do the math.

There’s been a lot of handwringing about Mann’s status given that the team didn’t extend him a qualifying offer and acquired a couple of guards in the last few days in Collin Sexton and Pat Connaughton. However, general manager Jeff Peterson said in his first round press conference that he fully expected Mann to be back. It turns out he held true to his word. The Hornets get their last year’s sixth man back on a very reasonable $8 million per year deal over the next three seasons.
Mann only played 13 games last season, but that was more than enough to fully endear him to Hornets fans. He had a very strong preseason and carried that into the regular season where he averaged 14 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds per game and shot 40% from three.
The Hornets have a crazy roster crunch right now, especially at the guard spot. More moves have to be coming just due to NBA roster rules and things of that nature. When all that happens, it’s relieving to know Mann is back in the fold.
