Newcastle United could find the answer to the right-wing transfer issues at Manchester City - and it's not Jack Grealish or James McAtee.

While the are still waiting to get their summer business under way, Pep Guardiola's side have already been very busy in the transfer window.

The Club World Cup meant City were able to strike early, bringing player to the Etihad in the opening weeks of the summer. Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Alt-Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli all arrived in the North West before they headed Stateside for the controversial tournament.

Now comes the reckonning, and Newcastle can take full advantage.

has a weatlh of attacking talent available to him, and now faces some big decision over who the former champions can afford to let go.

The Spaniard has admitted City cannot go forward with a 27-man squad, which means some first-team players could soon be jettisoned.

Newcastle have kept an eye on England Under-21 captain McAtee, but he appears to he heading for the Bundesliga, while United are not interested in bringing Grealish to Tyneside.

However Oscar Bobb would be the perfect man to offer another exciting option on the right-hand side of his forward line.

The young Norwegian star has just made his comeback from a broken leg which ruled him out for the majority of last season, and featured in two of City's Club World Cup games, scoring against Al Ain.

However, with the likes of Cherki, Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, Savinho, Phil Foden, Claudio Echeverri, Nico Gonzalez and Omar Marmoush, it has been suggested the 21-year-old may struggle to win a place in the City side next season.

Guardiola remains a big fan of Bobb, but reports in Manchester indicate he could be at the back of the queue when it comes to selection in the coming campaign.

The City boss has shown before that he is willing to allow players to leave - Cole Palmer and Grealish to name two - and there will be plenty of clubs willing to take him should an exit be on the cards.

A loan deal could perhaps benefit both parties, especially with Bobb needing to prove his injury has not derailed his progress, but Newcastle saw first-hand just how good he is with that infamous St James' Park goal which broke United hearts in January 2024.

He has immense talent and has the whole of his career ahead of him. It would be an unpopular decision among the City faithful but that's not Newcastle's problem.

Newcastle are keen on of course, but Bobb already has Champions League experience and winners' medals in his trophy cabinet.

Who knows what his future holds, but United should be front and centre should a move from City be on the cards.
