Arsenal are close to reaching a verbal agreement with Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres’ camp over personal terms, according to L’Equipe.
The Gunners have reportedly made a breakthrough in talks to sign the 26-year-old striker and are hopeful of finalising his arrival in the coming weeks of the transfer window.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is believed to be pushing for Gyokeres' arrival and is hoping to spend less than the reported €80m (£68m) Sporting are demanding.
Gyokeres is said to be keen on a summer switch to the Emirates despite a potential chance to reunite with his former boss Ruben Amorim at Manchester United this summer.
