According to court records reported by Robert Snell of The Detroit News, Beasley's financial issues have snowballed even as he enjoyed a breakout season with the Detroit Pistons.
Federal investigators are probing potential wire fraud, gambling, and prop betting involving Beasley, though he hasn't been charged. The Pistons have reportedly withdrawn a three-year, $42 million contract offer amid the investigation.
Beasley's debts stretch across multiple lawsuits. In April, Hazan Sports Management Group sued him in federal court, alleging that he had failed to repay a $650,000 advance against future marketing revenue. The firm is seeking at least $2.25 million.
Separately, South River Capital won a $5.8 million judgment against Beasley more than three years ago for unpaid loans. He also signed another loan deal last year, pledging his current and future NBA contracts as collateral.
Smaller debts have piled up, too. He was sued twice this year by his Detroit landlord over unpaid rent and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
A celebrity barber won a $26,827 judgment, while a Minnesota dentist secured a $34,390 default judgment and began garnishing his paychecks from the Pistons.
Despite earning over $59 million in NBA contracts, Beasley's financial and legal problems are compounding at a pivotal point in his career when he should have been one of the hottest names in the free agent market.
