Report: What Chelsea are going to consider before potentially selling Noni Madueke to Arsenal

Chelsea could allow Noni Madueke to join Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners interested in their winger.

While he was a key player for Enzo Maresca last season, The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that Chelsea are prepared to part ways with Madueke during this transfer window.

In total, the 23-year-old has made 44 appearances under his current manager, with his latest coming in the Blues’ 3-0 win against Esperance Sportive de Tunis at the Club World Cup.

Before the club potentially sell him, though, they are going to be mindful of one thing.

Chelsea taking into account Anthony Elanga’s valuation

Madueke is not the only wide man in the Premier League who could be on the move. Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga could also be set for a transfer.

Newcastle United are interested in the 23-year-old, and his potential switch to St James’ Park could have ramifications for Madueke.

According to The Telegraph, amid serious interest from Arsenal, Chelsea are yet to put a valuation on Madueke but are mindful of the fact that Newcastle are willing to pay £50m for Elanga.

It means that when Chelsea do eventually decide to put an asking price on Madueke — if they do — Elanga could be used as a benchmark.

Madueke scored one more goal than Elanga in the Premier League last season. Chelsea will feel that the England international is just as good as him, if not better. However, the Forest star did register significantly more assists, recording 11 to Madueke’s three.

It is thought that Chelsea will receive good offers for Madueke after the Club World Cup, but whether they will be acceptable ones remains to be seen.

Another Premier League club could join Arsenal in race for Noni Madueke

Arsenal are unlikely to get a free run at Madueke. The same Telegraph report states that if Newcastle fail to land Elanga, then they could turn to the former PSV Eindhoven man.

Newcastle also wanted to sign Joao Pedro, but Pedro has opted for Chelsea instead in a blow to Eddie Howe.
