Arsenal can sign striker for£59.5M–Gunners make moves sign Spaniard–Arsenal target free leave for big money

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Cristhian Mosquera that we think you may have missed…

Valencia captain Jose Gaya has encouraged Cristhian Mosquera to ignore strong interest from Arsenal and ‘continue growing’ with the La Liga club after the Gunners reportedly agreed terms with the defender.

Mosquera has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Mestalla, but Valencia have the option to extend this contract beyond 2026 and have been in talks over a new deal with the Spanish star.

Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on Mosquera’s progress for some time and tested Valencia’s resolve with an opening bid to lure the young defender to the Emirates in recent days.

But this offer was rejected out of hand by Valencia, with the Spanish outfit refusing to be bullied and holding out for a fee in the region of £17million for the highly rated 21-year-old centre-back.

The north Londoners are not alone in wanting to sign Mosquera, though, and Mikel Arteta’s side may have to beat off competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa for the Spain Under-21 international.

However – amid all the speculation and rumours – Gaya has opened up and encouraged the young man to ignore the interest from Arsenal and stay put: ‘I would like them to continue growing here because they can still bring a lot of joy to the fans,’ Valencia skipper Gaya told A Punt when pressed on rumours Cesar Tarrega, Yarek Gasiorowski and Mosquera could all leave the club this summer.

IcFootballnews Says…

Mosquera is a brilliant young defender that is developing very nicely at Valencia, this move to Arsenal does not need to happen right now as he will not play every game.

It would be a massive step for him to make, Arsenal would be a great move if he was guaranteed game time, but with Gabriel and Williams Saliba, he would be just waiting for his chance.

He may aswell stay put for now and move when he is a bit more ready

GYOKERES FEE SET

Sporting CP has revealed why they will refuse to sell Manchester United, Chelsea and ARSENAL target Viktor Gyokeres below their valuation during this summer transfer window.

Now Arsenal have been linked with Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres for a couple of seasons, but their massive wages and massive transfer fee meant that a move to the Premier League has not yet happened.

Arsenal have been linked with adding a new striker to that attack for the last few summer windows, but this transfer window, Mikel Arteta is expected to land a forward that will send a real statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League

But if the likes of Arsenal want to secure a deal for Gyokeres on the cheap, that wont happen as Sporting Lisbon CP have sent a clear transfer message – Frederico Varandas told O Jogo: “Sporting is very calm regarding Viktor Gyokeres.

‘Sporting does not need to sell him, but we remain sensitive to the dreams of Viktor and any of our athletes.

‘After weeks of meetings, we are not asking for the release clause and will be reasonable regarding the price we ask for Viktor. Today, I believe there is a strong probability he will leave. We have been watching the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leave for €65million.

‘I saw Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both forwards but who, in my opinion, do not have Viktor’s market value or quality, being negotiated for around €75million.

‘Given the demands we consider fair, I believe Viktor could leave – unless he has the worst agent in the world, which is hard for me to believe, because he is one of the best footballers in the world.”

BENJAMIN SESKO FEE LOWERED

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been told RB Leipzig will require at least £59.5 million for top strike target Benjamin Sesko, it has been reported in the media this week.

Despite Chelsea and ARSENAL claiming Champions League football this season, there has been alot of speculation that both clubs need to delve into that transfer kitty and add a striker that has the ability to score 20, 30 or even 40 goals a season.

Sesko has been on the agenda of the Premier League giants for the last few seasons, but made the decision last year that he wanted to stay put for one more season to help his development, with many believing that a move will happen this transfer window.

Arsenal have been named as the favourites to get a transfer deal done for the big man but the Gunners were told of the asking price as sporting director Andrea Berta held a ‘secret meeting’ with his Leipzig counterpart.

Leipzig have recently reportedly claimed that they would like £75 million to let Sesko leave, and were unwilling to lower that transfer fee, but Leipzig are now willing to let the striker go for a fee around £59.7m this summer, according to BILD.

Sesko is a very young striker that has the ability to score some goals, in the Bundesliga. The Premier League will be a massive step up for the lad that he may struggle with making if he joins the wrong team.

Mikel Arteta knows that he needs a striker and Sesko is just the type of forward he would surely like at the club. If ARSENAL really want to sign a top forward, then they have to start spending the money.

Is £59.5 million alot for one of the best young strikers around?

He has the potential to score 30 goals a season in that creative attack at Arsenal that is for sure.
