Vasilije Micic expected to become free agent

Vasilije Micic is set to be bought out by the Milwaukee Bucks after a recent trade, making him a free agent with interest from EuroLeague teams for a possible return to Europe.

After another trade this offseason, Vasilije Micic has landed with the Milwaukee Bucks, but his stay there likely won't last long.

According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Bucks plan to buy out Micic's contract. This will make him a free agent, able to sign with any NBA team or play elsewhere.

Yossi Gozlan earlier reported that Micic is expected to give back a significant portion of his $8.1 million salary in the buyout. This move should free up enough cap space for the Bucks to sign Myles Turner.

Micic was traded to Milwaukee from the Charlotte Hornets, who had just acquired him from the Phoenix Suns.

Last season, Micic averaged 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 41 games split between Phoenix and Charlotte.

The 31-year-old Serbian playmaker left Europe in 2023, but a return might be on the horizon.

The two-time EuroLeague champion (2021, 2022) and 2021 EuroLeague MVP has reportedly attracted interest from several EuroLeague teams. Hapoel Tel Aviv's owner, Ofer Yannay, even confirmed he has spoken with Micic.
