Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has reportedly been in talks with Liverpool's Luis Diaz over a potential summer transfer as the player ponders his future at Anfield.
Diaz continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield following Liverpool's triumphant Premier League season with Barcelona particularly interested. It's now come to light that discussions regarding a possible switch to the newly crowned German champions have already begun.
Eberl is believed to have made a 'concrete approach' to Diaz on behalf of Bayern Munich, who is on the hunt for a wide forward after missing out on Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.
Bild reports that they 'discussed specific figures' in an attempt to agree on personal terms for the Colombian star. Diaz, whose contract with Liverpool runs until summer 2027, has also been linked with a lucrative move to Spain this summer.
However, Bayern is also considering other options, including Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. The German giants have already missed out on deals for Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams, with the latter also of interest to Barcelona.
Barca has also been heavily linked with Diaz but would unlikely be able to meet Liverpool's valuation.
That would not be a problem for clubs in Saudi Arabia but it is uncertain if the Colombian would be open to that move at this stage of his career.
News of Diaz's discussions with Eberl and Bayern comes just weeks after the winger's partner, Gera Ponce, sent social media into meltdown by posting what seemed to be a goodbye message on her Instagram account.

She penned: "To the incredible Liverpool fans. From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club.
"We knew the slogan was 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love... confirmed to us that here you never walk alone.
"This fan doesn't just support, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our entire family feel is something we carry in our souls.
""Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home. Being a part of this fan is a privilege. There's no doubt: they're the best in the world. This is a real bond, deep and strong, that reaffirms that we'll never walk alone."
