Manchester United hope to sign a new striker this summer, but could see one target lining up against Ruben Amorim’s side this season.
Matheus Cunha has joined Manchester United, but the Brazilian is poised to play as a number 10 under Ruben Amorim.
The same goes for the next top target, with United pushing to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
United will hope to have Mbeumo signed up before pre-season training begins next week, with the Cameroonian the clear top target for Amorim.
Once Mbeumo is on board, United may look to add another striker to Amorim’s attacking options.
Rasmus Hojlund struggled for goals last season, and United will be searching far and wide for a new goalscorer.

Fulham could sign Manchester United target Tolu Arokodare
One name on United’s radar is Genk hitman Tolu Arokodare.
United have scouted Arokodare as a potential striking addition for this summer after the Nigerian hitman racked up the goals in Belgium.
More United News
Arokodare hit 23 goals last season and has put himself on United’s radar for a potential move.
The Sun now report that Fulham are ramping up their interest in Arokodare and could lure the striker to London.
It’s suggested that Arokodare has a ‘strong bond’ with Fulham duo Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey from Nigerian international duty.
Fulham are now plotting a £15million offer for Arokodare, meaning the giant striker could end up playing against United next season.
Arokodare would love to join United, admitting that he is a fan of the club and a switch to Old Trafford would be a ‘dream’.
Arokodare may not land that ‘dream’ move, but he could still end up playing at Old Trafford as Fulham line up a move.
Ineos would be wise to look at left-field striking options
Arokodare would not be a big-name addition for United, and some higher-profile targets may appeal more.
The likes of Ollie Watkins, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres would generate a level of excitement that Arokodare would struggle to replicate.
Ineos don’t have unlimited funds, though, and going for a left-field option such as Arokodare should not be overlooked.
A giant presence at 6ft 6in tall, Arokodare has been a goalscoring force in Belgium having previously impressed in Latvia.
Belgium to the Premier League is a huge step up, but £15million wouldn’t break the bank and United are unlikely to lose a large amount money if the move doesn’t work out.
Sir Alex Ferguson took a similar gamble on Javier Hernandez, and that worked out pretty well for United.
Perhaps Arokodare is one United will keep tabs on after he leaves Genk, with a move to Fulham potentially the ideal test before a possible Old Trafford switch in the future.
United would have to pay a much larger fee in that instance, though, and taking a chance this summer should not be ruled out.
