Agent leaks Liverpool player‘still available’–Contacts club to try and revive big transfer

On Tuesday, we covered claims from Spain that Barcelona’s interest in Liverpool’s Luis Díaz is still alive after their negotiations stalled to sign Athletic’s Nico Williams.

It was also stated Liverpool haven’t opened the door to negotiate the forward’s sale this summer.

Despite Liverpool’s firm stance on the 28-year-old, Barcelona receive encouragement to try and sign him this summer.

That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, and their title reads: ‘Luis Díaz sends messages to Barca that he’s still there.’

Williams, 22, is cheaper and younger than the Colombia international. Therefore, the La Liga winners are prioritising him, but the move has stalled.

Mundo states Díaz’s agent has taken advantage of this to inform Hansi Flick’s side that his client is ‘still available’ for transfer. Before prioritising Williams, Barca hoped for the agent to put pressure on the Reds to force Díaz’s exit.

That didn’t happen and the representative has reappeared following an impasse in the Williams operation. Barcelona are aware of the Liverpool player’s desire to join them and there’s ‘still a long way to go’ to secure his services.

Liverpool are reluctant to sell, but Díaz’s agent believe they’ll open the door ‘sooner rather than later’, considering they have already spent a lot on signings. If that were to happen, Barca feel Arne Slot’s side could request a higher fee.

There’s been claims of Bayern Munich interest in the former FC Porto man. Another report from Mundo insists the Spanish champions are clear that they won’t be joining a bidding war.
