Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest on all the biggest headlines, including Chelsea’s next move, Noni Madueke to Arsenal and what’s going on at Manchester United.
Tottenham on the charge for Kudus
Spurs are aiming to sign Mohammed Kudus as a prized signing for new manager Thomas Frank.
Despite interest from a host of other clubs, including Newcastle United, the North London side are pushing for a deal.
Romano explains on YouTube: “In recent hours, contact between Tottenham Hotspur and Mohammed Kudus is well underway. Spurs are really working on a deal, even more compared to what’s appeared in the media about Eberechi Eze. Conversations are ongoing and the player is open to the move.
“Chelsea remain interested in the player and there’s one more club monitoring the situation. At the moment, nothing is done or committed but Tottenham are pushing. They want to give the player to Thomas Frank and believe he’d be an excellent addition. It’s a very concrete story.”
Chelsea still in the market as Arsenal examine Madueke deal
Enzo Maresca is still looking to make additions to his Chelsea side, despite Joao Pedro signing his contract on Tuesday.
At least one defensive player will join the Blues, who could still move for another attacker, particularly if Arsenal sign Noni Madueke.
Romano says: “Chelsea are not done yet. First of all, they’re looking at centre-backs and they’re also looking at one more potential offensive addition.
“Arsenal are considering a move for Noni Madueke but the reality is that nothing has changed. No proposal has been sent to Chelsea and no contract has been sent to the player. They just had talks to understand the position of the player last week.
Malick Fofana from Lyon is one of the options but it’s not only Chelsea here.

“If Madueke decides to leave, Chelsea could still add one more attacking player. Malick Fofana from Lyon is one of the options but it’s not only Chelsea here.
“Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Lyon. But there’s no agreement with the player. Fofana is assessing his options and waiting for Champions League clubs. There were talks from Bayern, Napoli and Chelsea. He’s waiting to see if one of these clubs goes strong to sign him.”

Arsenal hot on Eze
While Arsenal have been linked with Madueke, they are move advanced on another Premier League winger, as Romano explains.
“For Eberechi Eze, there was contact between Arsenal and the agents of the player. They’re working on the deal and the talks are concrete. Now the player is opening doors to Arsenal. He’s excited by it and he’s keen for the move to Arsenal,” he says.
“It’s a separate story to Madueke. Arsenal only had conversations to understand the situation of Madueke. For Eze, they’ve started talking about the conditions of the deal with Crystal Palace and on the player’s side.
“Tottenham, at the moment, are not advancing for Eze. They’re focusing on Kudus. Keep an eye on Arsenal and Eze.”
Romano’s Mosquera to Arsenal verdict
Arsenal are close to getting another major move over the line, with the exciting addition of one of Europe’s most promising central defenders in the form of Cristhian Mosquera.
Valencia are fighting to retain the player, but it appears to be a losing battle.
Romano reports: “Valencia have offered a new deal to Cristhian Mosquera on an important salary. My understanding is that Mosquera’s desire is very clear: Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal. He wants to play for them. Now it’s on Valencia and Arsenal to reach an agreement on the transfer fee. The first bid of €14-15m was rejected.
“Arsenal will be back to the negotiating table. The desire of the player is to go there.
“My feeling is that Mosquera is leaning towards a move to Arsenal. That’s my understanding. The attraction of the project is something very strong.”

What’s happening with Gyokeres?
Arsenal and Viktor Gyokeres are stuck in a holding pattern, Romano says.
“For Gyokeres, we’re getting many rumours that there’s an agreement close between Arsenal and Sporting. I’m told there are still no changes,” he reports. “There’s no advanced negotiation.
“We know that Gyokeres and Arsenal have been in discussions for weeks. He’s one of the main targets for Arsenal this summer. There’s still this war going on between the agents of the player and Sporting to understand the final price of the player. And the price has to be clarified before Arsenal go to the negotiating table.”
Man Utd concentrated on Mbeumo
United also want to sign Gyokeres, but Romano says any deal is a long way off.
“On Manchester United, remember the priority of Gyokeres would be to go to Arsenal because of Champions League football. But he’s not rejected United. The price is very important for them, though,” Romano explains.
“The focus for them is on closing out the Bryan Mbeumo deal as soon as possible. They’re in the process. Then they can understand how much they can spend on the striker.”
Luis Diaz interest confirmed
Luis Diaz could still leave Liverpool, despite Barcelona no longer pushing for the Colombia winger.
Romano says: “I can confirm that Bayern made an approach with the camp of Luis Diaz to understand the situation. It was a general approach. There’s still no formal proposal.
“Bayern are aware of Al-Nassr’s interest for the Colombian winger.
“Liverpool are still in conversations over his contract. Bayern are asking about many wingers, so let’s see what’s going to happen there.”
