Manchester United’s chances of selling Marcus Rashford this summer have just been boosted by arch-rivals Liverpool.
Marcus Rashford is set to return to Carrington next week in what is bound to be an awkward reunion between the 27-year-old and Ruben Amorim.
Just a month or two after becoming head coach, Amorim heavily criticised Rashford’s workrate in training and eventually froze him out of the Manchester United squad before his loan move to Aston Villa.
Villa rejected a £40m chance to buy Rashford, so now United are looking for a new buyer and the player reportedly prefers a move overseas where he can challenge for titles.
While Barcelona prefer a loan move, Bayern Munich have shown interest in Rashford this week and Liverpool’s latest transfer stance could help push that deal through.

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz stance could help Man United sell Rashford
German giants Bayern are in the market for a new winger this summer and Marcus Rashford is just one target on their shopping list.
Another player on that list is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, but the Merseyside club issued a strong transfer response to Bayern’s bid for the Colombian.

As per Sky Sports, Liverpool rejected Bayern’s approach immediately and informed the Bundesliga champions that Diaz is not for sale this summer.
Hopefully, Liverpool’s stance encourages Bayern to move on to their other targets and potentially launch a bid for Rashford.
The Red Devils are demanding £40m for Rashford this summer, but his £300,000 per week wages could prove to be a stumbling block.
Man United have a strong relationship with Bayern Munich
If Bayern do decide to make a move for Rashford, it would certainly not be the first time the two clubs engaged in transfer talks.
Even recently, United poached Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern last summer, and now Rashford could be headed in the other direction.
Marcel Sabitzer and Bastian Schweinsteiger have also made the move from Bayern to United, as well as Owen Hargreaves back in 2007.

United have been very clear what they want for Rashford this summer – a £40m bid would be swiftly accepted by Ineos.
Reports have also suggested that Rashford is open to accepting a pay cut to force a move away from United this summer, so Bayern could even negotiate a lower salary with the player.
