West Ham look set to finally make some bold moves in the transfer market.
It has been mostly quiet in East London during this summer’s window, with Jean-Clear Tobido the only confirmed new signing.
However, headlines from overseas suggest that this could change very soon.

Independiente ready to sell Lomonaco
Kevin Lomonaco is one of the more exciting names linked with a move to West Ham this summer.
The 23-year-old is rated as one of talented young defenders in South America.

The Hammers have stated their interest in buying Lomonaco from his club in Argentina, Club Atletico Independiente.
Now, Spanish newspaper La Nueva Espana (p43, 2 July) reports that Independiente are open to selling their star centre-half.
Lomonaco was called up to the Argentina squad for their most recent fixtures against Chile and Colombia.
Although he didn’t get on the pitch, this vote of confidence from national team boss Lionel Scaloni has increased interest in the defender.
Real Betis and West Ham were believed to be the most interested suitors, although Aston Villa and Bournemouth have shown interest more recently.

Hammers fans are counting on Potter to work his magic in the transfer window
Graham Potter was appointed as West Ham manager in January, and he has the team playing slightly better than they were under Julen Lopetegui.
However, there’s still a general feeling that this first-team squad has gotten stale.
There won’t be much hope of the Hammers fighting for a top-half finish this season, unless some serious improvements are made during the summer transfer window.
Potter has a reputation for signing unknown talents and transforming them into Premier League superstars. That’s exactly what the club needs him to do right now.

Kevin Lomonaco 2024-25 statistics
Lomonaco seemingly has all the assets to be a great signing for West Ham, although the Premier League is a step up from playing in Argentina.
His signing would be the first sign that West Ham are serious about making significant improvements to their squad. Hammers fans will be looking for Potter to add some attacking talent to the squad as well. That would certainly help to raise enthusiasm levels around the London Stadium before the new season starts in August.
