Leeds United could complete deal soon – Whites have ‘major advantage’ in race for midfielder

Leeds United have addressed huge concerns in attack, and in defence this summer. There are other areas of the pitch that need attention.

Bringing in Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw has added three quality players to the team. Adding depth and elevating the level of players will be key in the Premier League. And so far the club have addressed that aspect.

But the initial plans included adding a midfielder, and finding a new goalkeeper. With Newcastle’s Nick Pope having made his decision, Leeds now have to move on. The club also missed out on signing Habib Diarra, who joined Sunderland. Leeds were adamant that they did not want to pay the £30million the French club wanted.

This has meant that the Whites have switched their attention to Hoffenheim’s Anton Stach. According to reports, everything is set for the midfielder to arrive in the next few days. Leeds are working quickly to make him their fourth signing of the summer.

Graeme Bailey has revealed that the reason the club has been able to close deals from the Bundesliga so quickly is their Red Bull connections.

“He’s on the list I’m told. Hoffenheim are not keen for him to go. Leeds aren’t the only ones interested from what I’m told. A very good player and obviously through Red Bull, Leeds are well-versed on him.” he told Leeds United News.

“They’re ahead of many other Premier League teams when it comes to German-based talent. So, it’s not a surprise, you know, it’s not going to be a huge surprise. If there’s a good one, Leeds know all about it.”

Anton Stach will be a valuable addition

In Stach, Leeds have found a valuable piece to add to their midfield. The German will add some real quality alongside the current options in the team.
