Technical Skills Coach Paiva leaves Liverpool early

Liverpool’s Technical Skills Coach Diogo Paiva has left the club “earlier than expected”.

Paiva joined the club last summer from Porto, where he had worked for six years as Under-19s Head Coach and Head of Individual Player Development.

His role at Anfield was similar to the one which Rene Meulensteen had at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, developing the technical skills of first team and PDP Academy players.

Writing on LinkedIn, Paiva said: “This club has been more than just a place to work. It has been a home, a family. Liverpool has given me so much, and I have been embraced with warmth and support throughout my time here. It is a great club that will always hold a special place in my heart.

“I want to express my gratitude to the management for understanding my reasons for leaving the club earlier than expected and for releasing me from my commitments.”

Liverpool are advertising for Paiva’s replacement.
