Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman has signed a long-term contract extension and will join Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon, where he played a pivotal role in the club’s promotion to League One.

Goodman was awarded the League Two Golden Glove after keeping 25 clean sheets in all competitions and was named in the League Two Team of the Season with an xG prevented of 4.15.

However, for his third stint away from Selhurst Park, the shot-stopper will come up against AFC Wimbledon – his former club – in League One as he joins promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town.

Internationally, Goodman was recently included in England’s training squad for the Under-21 European Championship but narrowly missed out on the final selection, with James Beadle, Teddy Sharman-Lowe and Tommy Simkin preferred.

Though he has represented England at youth level, the Crystal Palace academy graduate is also eligible to represent Canada and Nigeria.
