According to reports, Arsenal have agreed a deal with Viktor Gyokeres to join them on a five-year contract.
But we've been here before. There were claims last month that the Gunners had agreed personal terms with Benjamin Sesko - their other striker target for the summer transfer window - only for other reports to surface that they were getting frustrated with the negotiations over salary for the Slovenian.
French newspaper L'Equipe claimed on Tuesday night that Arsenal were close to reaching a verbal agreement with Gyokeres' camp over personal terms for a transfer this summer. However, journalist Sacha Tavolieri went one step further, reporting that a 'five-year deal' had been agreed between the player and Arsenal with the Gunners now moving onto advanced talks with Sporting CP over a transfer fee.
Arsenal have only made one signing so far in this transfer window, with Kepa Arrizabalaga joining in a £5 million deal from Chelsea on Tuesday afternoon.
Martin Zubimendi will complete a £55m move from Real Sociedad soon, with Christian Norgaard also expected to arrive in a £10m deal that could rise to £15m
That striker signing is the one the supporters are waiting for, though, and the news on Gyokeres from Tuesday night is sure to excite fans, given his prolific form. The Swede has scored 97 goals in 102 games in two seasons in Portugal and will now get the chance to prove himself in one of Europe's top five leagues.
Arsenal travel to Asia for their pre-season tour on July 19, and the Gunners will hope to have him signed, sealed and delivered before then to get him up to speed with his new teammates before the start of the Premier League season.
Arsenal take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the campaign, so what would Mikel Arteta's strongest lineup look like for that clash?
Kepa may have come into the squad, but David Raya remains the first choice option in between the sticks. The back line also remains the same as last season, with Jurrien Timber at right-back, Wiliam Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes as the centre-back pairing and Myles Lewis-Skelly, after signing a new deal, the left-back.
Martin Zubimendi comes into the midfield alongsisde Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, with Norgaard likely to be strength from the bench.
Then up front, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli would support star signing Gyokeres through the middle.
