After an encouraging first year as a scholar Louis Zecevic John will be determined to make even more progress at Arsenal this time around.
The Serbia youth international made 18 league appearances for the U18s last season, during which he scored six goals and provided seven assists.
Furthermore, the prospect also featured in the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup.
A fast and skilful player, Zecevic John can make an impact on the right wing but was mainly used as a striker in the second half of last season.
Arsenal U21s are somewhat short of attacking options following the departures of the likes of Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and Khayon Edwards, which means that Zecevic John could now be given an opportunity to step up.
The 17-year-old’s versatility could help him to get further game time, while he is capable of combining well with Andre Harriman-Annous, who could also have a key part to play for the U21s despite still being eligible to feature at U18 level.
Arsenal will be determined to ensure that Zecevic John remains at the club in the long term and giving him chances at U21 level could certainly help matters in that regard.
Should he impress sufficiently for the U21s then first-team callups in training and potentially in matches could follow for Zecevic John, but his immediate aim will be to impress for Mehmet Ali’s team.
