Barcelona midfield ace comments on club’s pursuit of Nico Williams, Luis Diaz – ‘The best…

Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo has sparked fresh speculation about Luis Diaz’s future by calling the Colombian a world-class talent.

Speaking to Jijantes, Olmo said, **“He’s a really great person and a world-class talent, and at Barcelona, the best players should play.**” His words have only added to the growing excitement among fans who want to see Diaz at Camp Nou.

Although Barcelona are currently focused on signing Nico Williams from Athletic Club, Diaz has always been on their radar. In fact, before Barcelona renewed their push for Nico, Diaz was the club’s priority target.

The Catalans had hoped that Diaz’s agent would put more pressure on Liverpool to clear the way for his exit. But with his representative staying quiet, Barça shifted their attention back to Nico Williams.

Adding more fuel to the transfer talk, Olmo and Diaz were recently spotted together on holiday in Ibiza.

Their meeting has raised eyebrows, with many wondering if Olmo was trying to convince Diaz to join him at Barcelona.

Olmo also spoke about Barcelona’s goals for the upcoming 2025/26 season. He stressed the team’s determination to defend their La Liga title, saying,

“We want to win. The hard part is not winning, but repeating the win. We have great ambition.”

When asked about the concerns over Nico Williams’ registration if he joins Barcelona, Olmo expressed full faith in the club. “I tell Nico that everything will be resolved. There may be some doubts, but I have full confidence in the club,” he said.

While he admitted he doesn’t know any inside details about Nico’s transfer, Olmo praised the young winger’s talent and said he loves playing alongside the best players.

“I don’t know anything about Nico. He’s a special player who belongs to another club, and that must be respected. We are aiming to sign the best players.

“I love playing with the best, and Nico has proven himself with Athletic and the national team.”

Regarding the Club World Cup, Olmo shared his hope that it would not hurt the team, adding,

“I hope it doesn’t affect us negatively. I don’t wish harm on anyone, but in our case, we’re happy because we got this break and were able to relax,” he concluded.
