Man Utd have been offered perfect fit for Ruben Amorim in exchange for Jadon Sancho, choice clear among three

Manchester United went into the transfer window thinking Jadon Sancho was a stressed asset they would have trouble offloading, but they might just have been offered the perfect solution in exchange.

When Jadon Sancho returned from Chelsea, with the club effectively paying £5m to not play for them, Man Utd’s window went into a tailspin.

Not only did they miss out on £25m, they are now stuck with his wages of close to £300k/week.

It goes without saying that he’s not playing for United again, but saying that is far easier than making it happen, until now.

Juventus offer creative deal for Jadon Sancho

Since returning to United, Sancho has at least generated interest from multiple parties, a saga that began with links to Napoli, then fleeting links to Fenerbahce emerged as well.

However, Juventus have emerged as favourites for his signature since then, a team he reportedly wants to play for as well.

Needless to say, Juventus can’t afford his wages either, but what they have offered in exchange should be looked at closely by United.

It was reported recently that Juventus have offered one of Douglas Luiz, Timothy Weah, and Dusan Vlahovic in exchange for the player.

These three pretty much hold the same standing at Juventus as Sancho does at United, stressed assets that need offloading.

However, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Just like Juventus fancy Sancho, United have an opportunity to get a proven Premier League in a position of need in this swap deal.

Douglas Luiz should be clear choice for Ruben Amorim

On first glance, Dusan Vlahovic makes the most sense for United. He’s a player of interest to the club, plays at a position of need, and comes with top-class pedigree.

However, Vlahovic’s wages effectively make it a straight swap with Sancho, something which United are trying to have control over.

Weah is an interesting option due to his versatility, but his quality, especially in the Premier League, is an unknown, especially for someone who doesn’t fill a position of need.

Luiz, on the other hand, ticks these boxes. His time at Juventus has been less than stellar, but just like some players flourish away from England, he’s a player who likes playing in the Premier League.

His time at Juventus shouldn’t be a judgement on his abilities, since he’s proven in England with Aston Villa.

Ruben Amorim wants a midfielder in the window, so Luiz fits perfectly as the deep-lying player next to Bruno Fernandes.

His wages of close to £130k/week will fit snugly in the revamped structure at United, and at 27, he’s at the ideal age of playing out his peak at Old Trafford.

Swap deals rarely work out well for all parties. Man Utd fans will never forget Alexis Sanchez-Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the chance to sell a player with no future at the club to get one who ticks all the boxes is a great one.

United should make it happen.
