Liverpool have moved decisively this transfer window.
Securing Jeremie Frimpong (£29.5 million), Florian Wirtz (£116.5 million) and Milos Kerkez (£40 million) well before the first pre-season session gives Liverpool a crucial head start on squad cohesion.
Liverpool’s build-up to the 2025/26 campaign will span four high-profile friendlies across three continents, beginning July 13 at Preston and culminating with a home double-header against Athletic Bilbao on August 4.
Players and staff return to the AXA Training Centre on July 8, granting Arne Slot’s men nearly a month of fine-tuning before the Premier League kicks off.
After testing early-season match fitness against Championship side Preston North End at Deepdale, the Reds will jet to Asia for a landmark tour.
The trip opens with a Standard Chartered Trophy clash against AC Milan at Hong Kong’s new Kai Tak Stadium on July 26, followed by Liverpool’s first-ever summer fixture in Japan against Yokohama F. Marinos at Nissan Stadium on July 30.
And now another new face arrives in time for pre-season.
Reliable Georgian reporter “Geo Team” have revealed that Giorgi Mamardashvili is flying to Liverpool FC today to officially start his Anfield journey.
Liverpool agreed a deal last August to sign him from Valencia for £25 million plus £4 million in add-ons.
Although he remained on loan in La Liga for the 2024-25 campaign, the Georgian stopper will now arrive at Anfield imminently.
Taking to X, the Georgian reporter revealed that the shot-stopper is on way to Merseyside on a plane provided by the club:
“Giorgi Mamardashvili will fly to Liverpool today,” he wrote.
“Per my information, Georgian goalkeeper will travel to England with his agent, Levan Seturidze, on a private jet provided by LFC”.
His agent in Levan Seturidze is the founder and CEO of Georgian agency Free Football.
The UEFA-certified football manager is credited with shepherding several Georgian talents into top European leagues.
