New Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has been pictured flying to England ahead of his move to Anfield, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
The Reds confirmed last summer that they had reached an agreement with Valencia for Mamardashvili to join the club ahead of the 2025/2026 season. The towering goalkeeper remained in La Liga for the 2024/2025 campaign, and he's now ready to link up with Arne Slot's squad.
It's been a busy window for Liverpool so far, with Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez all announced as new additions. The trio have joined the club in time for pre-season, which is a huge boost for Slot as he aims to prepare his side for the new campaign.

Romano has now shared an image of Mamardashvili and his agent on the way to England ahead of his move to Liverpool this summer.
Described as "sensational" by Scott Wilson, the 23-year-old might have to play second fiddle to Alisson Becker for now, with the Brazilian goalkeeper excelling between the sticks for Liverpool. Caoimhín Kelleher wanted to leave the club in search of first-team football, joining Brentford this summer, so Liverpool needed to find a new number two.
Mamardashvili is eight years younger than Alisson, and the Reds are showing a real emphasis on planning ahead. Mamardashvili should be given the opportunity to play in different competitions, but it's difficult to see Alisson being replaced as number one, considering he's still playing at the top of his game.
Liverpool paid a total package of around £25m to bring Mamardashvili to Anfield, and it was a smart move allowing him to remain with Valencia for another season. The Georgian goalkeeper was able to flourish in La Liga and continue his development with the Spanish club, rather than sitting on the bench and hardly playing for the Merseyside outfit.
