Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with Man Utd.
This summer will be defined by 's ability to add a striker to their ranks, or not as the case could be. In an ideal world, would have been the striker who joined United this summer; trusts him, he's prolific in front of goal and he fits the 3-4-2-1 system perfectly.
However, this dream scenario looks to be just that after the news that was reported on Tuesday night. Journalist understands that Arsenal have agreed a five-year deal with Gyokeres' camp and have now turned their attention to negotiations with Sporting CP regarding a transfer fee.
While that transfer is not fully confirmed, at least yet, it seems like United are further away then ever before from completing a deal for the Swede. As such, it's now time for the Reds to take drastic action.
Before it became clear that a swoop for Gyokeres would be difficult, there were few options on the market to fill that centre-forward void at Old Trafford. Such strikers are like goldust these days and United need to work quickly to add one to their squad.
The Manchester Evening News understands that Brentford's is the priority for the Reds at present but surely this needs to change to a striker, in particular . While Mbeumo would be a fine addition to this squad, it's not like United have a shortage of players to fill their second No.10 role alongside Matheus Cunha.

, and have all shown that they can perform in that position and considering that the Cameroon international is willing to hold out for the Reds, surely the focus can change. Osimhen is said to be available for £64million this summer; both the Nigerian and Napoli want him to be sold.
He has already rejected a move to Al-Hilal as he sees his future in Europe. Galatasaray are super keen on returning Osimhen to Istanbul but, surely, if United come knocking, the 26-year-old would prioritise the Reds.
Concerns over Osimhen's wage demands are believed to be putting off a lot of clubs this summer, but if it was all about the money for the Napoli star, then he would have shook hands with Al Hilal. Ultimately, Ineos need to be aware that there are limited options for them in the centre-forward market and with Gyokeres, seemingly, off the table, perhaps it's now time for them to make a drastic detour - to avoid being left behind.
