Leeds United could complete a deal to make Lucas Perri their new goalkeeper.
The Whites went through last campaign with plenty of pressure piling on Illan Meslier after a sizable number of mistakes in between the sticks.
This eventually saw Karl Darlow come in to see out the campaign and help earn promotion to the Premier League with seven starts in the final weeks.
As a result, the LS11 club could be on the lookout for a new shotstopper, with Perri emerging as a target as uncertainty surrounds Lyon.

It is fair to say that a new number one goalkeeper should be a priority before the new season kicks off in the top division.

Supporters will certainly be concerned if they turn up to face Everton on opening night and see the Frenchman in the starting 11.
With that in mind, the Whites will be in the market to bring a new keeper in, with a shortlist being drawn up as the summer window moves deeper.
This has seen Beren Cross report (2 July) that Lyon keeper Perri is one of a number of names that are in mind for Daniel Farke and Co.
As it stands, no bid or talks have been held, something which could be set to change as the French outfit’s Ligue 1 future hangs in the balance after being relegated due to financial concerns.
French football expert Julien Laurens told Sky Sports in June that Lyon’s relegation is a “massive earthquake in French football.” In November, it was reported the French giants had amassed a debt of around £200million.
Now Leeds are continuing to monitor the situation as they await clarity before potentially swooping in for the Brazilian at the Groupama Stadium.
Perri could replace Meslier at Leeds United
It feels likely that if a new number one were to come in at Elland Road, it would spell the end for Meslier, who is unlikely to want to sit on the bench.
Despite being highly rated last time out in the Premier League, the 25-year-old’s stock has completely dropped after many high-profile mistakes.
That can’t continue against these elite sides, and as a result, a move to bring in Perri could make sense after keeping 10 Ligue 1 clean sheets last campaign.

Although no one wants to see a side relegated due to financial issues, it could prove to be an ideal scenario for Leeds to land a keeper, as unethical as that may be.
