Jasper Vallmark sits on fence over move to Liverpool – Doesn’t want to encourage drama

Premier League champions Liverpool are interested in recruiting IF Elfsborg scout Jasper Vallmark.

The Swedish slant is that Vallmark would be a big loss for the club as he’s become increasingly important for them.

Liverpool would like to recruit Vallmark as a regional scout for Scandinavia which will give him the responsibility of finding talents that have the potential to play a key role for the Reds in the future. Scandinavia has been a growing source of talent in recent years and it makes sense for Liverpool to want to tap into that.

Swedish newspaper Boras Tidning report Elfsborg are set to lose another backroom staff member, as goalkeeping coach Linus Kandolin is on his way to West Ham United.

Elfsborg club manager (not coach, similar to sporting director) Stefan Andreasson was asked in a press conference about Liverpool’s interest, and said: “Nowadays, it’s not just our players who are being recognised, but also coaches and staff members, which we are incredibly happy about.”

Vallmark himself was contacted by BT and asked about Liverpool, to which he said: “At the moment I am working really hard here in Elfsborg. I have nothing else to say about it.”

Then asked if he’s aware of the interest, he replied: “It’s not the first time I’ve heard about it.”

And on whether it’s flattering: “It’s not something I think about in particular.”
