Chelsea are reportedly open to the prospect of Christopher Nkunku transfer this summer with Manchester United expressing a genuine interest in the French forward for next season.
Nkunku had a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge, with injuries disrupting his progress. His future now depends on Chelsea’s squad overhaul and whether United submit an official offer.
Christopher Nkunku Transfer on Man United’s Radar
Manchester United will be looking to freshen up in attack, and Nkunku is one who they could turn to. The 26-year-old joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for a fee of about £52m, but made only 14 appearances last season after suffering a series of injuries.
United remain an admirer of Nkunku’s versatility and keen attacking instincts even if his exposure on the pitch to date has been limited. Versatile enough to play as a striker, No.10 or a wide forward, the Frenchman suits Erik ten Hag’s pursuit of a dynamic, technical profile in the final third.
Intermediaries have reportedly started negotiations, although Manchester United have not made a formal bid yet. United are considering their budget with discussions ongoing for other targets such as Joshua Zirkzee and Michael Olise.
Chelsea Open to Offers Amid Squad Rebuild
Chelsea’s summer exodus has already started, with a number of senior players on their way out. Christopher Nkunku was once central to Chelsea’s attacking vision, but ongoing injury concerns have raised doubts about his future under Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea aren’t actively looking to sell, but a £50–55 million offer could tempt them as they look to boost their transfer budget.
