Decision now made to go all out for Liverpool player – Club owner meets with agent

On Tuesday, we covered a report from Corriere dello Sport which stated Napoli were giving themselves 48 hours to decide whether to really push for Darwin Núñez.

Liverpool’s asking price was thought to be an issue, and the Serie A club were considering whether to turn to Udinese’s giant striker Lorenzo Lucca instead.

Núñez has been open to the move and working alongside Antonio Conte at the Italian champions. Last season he was regularly on the bench in the Premier League for Liverpool, so it would be understandable if the 26-year-old is keen on a move away from the Reds.

Corriere dello Sport now report Napoli have made their decision and will go all out for the the Uruguay international.

A meeting between Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and agent Fali Ramadani has been held, and that was also attended by sports director Giovanni Manna.

The aim now will be to again try and drag Liverpool down on price, and they should succeed as long as there’s no serious competition. Interestingly, 24-year-old Lorenzo Lucca hasn’t been completely dismissed and there’s the chance of both being pursued.
