Liverpool refusing to sell stat that might earn £85k more per week than first thought

Liverpool really don’t seem like they want to sell Luis Diaz and it’s no surprise given the amount of change at Anfield at the moment.

As things stand, Liverpool are adding Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong, Mamardashvili and Woodman to the squad with more signings anticipated.

On the other hand, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold and Quansah have left the club so far this summer. It’s not complete yet but you can prematurely add Darwin Nunez to this list.

But Diaz – he’s a player Liverpool don’t want to sell.

The latest is that the Reds have told Bayern Munich they can’t have the Colombian.

Liverpool reject Bayern Munich approach for Luis Diaz – he is NOT for sale

According to a report from Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Liverpool have rejected an approach from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz with the German champions being told the 28-year-old winger is not for sale this summer.

Barcelona had the same experience last month.

Reportedly, “Liverpool will not entertain any approaches for the Colombian, who has also been of interest to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr this summer.

“Liverpool executives view Diaz as pivotal for the coming seasons.”

His Liverpool contract expires in two years so the club is risking losing him for a cut price fee next summer or for free the following year as they don’t want too much change this year.

The Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst has attempted to dispel claims that Diaz only earns £55,000 per week, reporting that Anfield sources revealed last year that the Colombian actually earns circa £140,000 per week.

[?] NEW: Online suggestions over Diaz's wage packet were robustly dismissed by Anfield insiders last year and it's understood the attacker earns around £140,000 at Anfield.

Ben Jacobs reports that it will take a crazy offer to break Liverpool’s resolve this summer.

He claims: “Al-Nassr yet to make an approach to Liverpool despite viewing Diaz as their top winger target. It would take a crazy offer now for Liverpool to reconsider what is a firm and consistent not-for-sale position.

“Liverpool’s executives are prioritising ‘team performance’ within in their stance on Díaz, viewing him and his contribution as important in the coming seasons.”

? Liverpool have formally rejected an attempt by Bayern Munich to engage over Luis Díaz.

Bayern chief Max Eberl has been informed #LFC have no intention or desire to enter discussions, with communication ended immediately, following an approach last night.
